The Short Suit

With the sun shining brightly and Spring hopefully around the corner - get out to the mall and pick up a short suit. A must have closet addition for Spring! This suit is the ultra-feminine take on a menswear inspired look. It is chic enough for most offices (just watch your length of shorts - take it closer to the knee!) and still whoa enough for a night out. There is just something inherently charming about shorts suit.

{Scotch & Soda} Men's Spring & Summer Stylez

What excites me about men's fashion right now is the fact that they are adopting colour, pattern, textures, and layering. Men's fashion has really stepped up it's game recently - or maybe it's because I am paying more attention? Nonetheless, I'm loving that men's fashion & women's fashion are more closely aligned. If you think about it, when looking at Spring & Summer trends, you can see that both men & women are adopting coloured denim/pants, oversized bags, and fresh looks through pattern and bright colours. 

The looks above are from Scotch & Soda an Amsterdam-based fashion brand that has been around since the 80s. What makes Scotch & Soda appealing to me is that they take the best tried and tested classic and vintage styles, inspiration from around the world to create the best garments that suit every individual. My ideal style mix is classically vintage - so you can see why I am in love with this fashion brand. There products are of high quality, rich in detail, and affordable. The perfect mix, right?

Anyhow, for all the stylish men out there or girlfriends reading this on behalf of their manfriendships; seriously start wearing a scarf, light weight, for Spring/Summer - the layering effect it has mixed with the trend factor will have you looking like a European hottie in no time. Forget grey, black and brown - add colour to your wardrobe mix, greens, blues, and reds are super hot. Also, when dressing, play with pattern on pattern - don't try to be too matchy matchy or opt for a look of perfection - the perfect look will come from imperfection.

With a New Year amongst us, most of us have our New Year’s resolutions – many of which are to be active and healthy for 2012.  For a fashion blog, I thought it was appropriate to put together some “Cool Workout Gear.”  Looking good while keeping fit, can be motivating for many of us. I know when I dress the part in any situation; I feel better and exude more confidence. This is even true when practicing fitness. This Spring, tie-dye is popping up everywhere. Will you wear it?

I love the look of these fashionable t-shirt dresses above. Not to mention the loose, casual, tied back hair. Perfect look for Spring - or the beach in the summer over a bathing suit. I think the faded effect & the colour of tie-dye you choose will make a difference. The oversized necklaces add a lot to the look. They are very geometric, colourful, and oversized.
