Wedding Photography Inspiration

When I am thinking about my wedding photos - I look to non-wedding photos for inspiration. Today's post is focusing on photos for me and my girls. I want them to be inspired by fashion and be pictures that we would all want of each other. I want us to look glamorous and have a lot of fun taking them. Better practice your modeling poses ladies! xo

This picture is happening forsure. I love everything about it.

Since we are getting married at a beautiful resort in Muskoka, this picture with all 7 of my girls the morning of looking at the water would be AH-MAZE!

I would love to get this shot before we are ready + then another after. I have some pretty styling bridesmaids - so this would be unreal especially infront of the rustic cottages.

The un-posey - posey nature of this photo is awesome.

Besides how epic the hair is in this photo. At the wedding I would like to get a pic with each of my girls.

I want my photos to express movement, emotion, and be more free. I don't want any stuffy stand around photos that are the mainstream typical photos you always see.

I have a super awesome photographer who I know can pull these shots off. I'm excited to have a little photo shoot with my girls on the day of the wedding. It will be fun. I'm sure we may feel silly at moments, but that's all part of it!

{Wedding Wednesday} Inspiration for a romantic, urban & soft wedding

Today I wanted to share the pinterest board I created for the wedding I am planning for a wonderful couple - Melissa & Kevin. They are getting married in May next year - and we had an update meeting yesterday to discuss vision, style, and next steps.

Melissa is probably one of the best brides I have ever worked with. Calm, organized, and has an amazing vision for her big day.

I'm excited to be taking part in it and can't wait to dive into all the decor and planning with them.

About the wedding:

The wedding theme is romance, urban, and soft.

The colours are whites, nudes, and a hint of grey.

The wedding will include many cultural elements from Filipino Traditions.

{Wedding Wednesday} The Dress

I would have to say that in my experience choosing the wedding dress is probably the best part of wedding planning. And by choosing I mean going on Pinterest and repinning dresses I like. I don't plan on actually shopping for the dress until much later as we (Parky & I) want to enjoy being engaged first.

I'm probably super biased as I love to shop, try on clothes, and know what I like. Now that I am engaged this is what I find myself thinking about most. What fabrics do I like, look, details, season, etc. I feel that once I nail what I want to wear and the theme of my dress - everything else will fall into place. Everyone keeps asking me for a date & I keep thinking what am I going to wear, what store will I buy it from, how much do I want to spend, who will I bring with me, etc. etc. etc.

So far I'm thinking sparkle, fur, draping, and details. Little details can have such a big lasting impact.

I'm not too sure how much I'll actually blog about my own wedding planning process - but today I was thinking about my dress and just had to let you know that I am declaring it the best part of the wedding planning process and I am very much looking forward to it. Oh, and styling my bridesmaids.

I also recommend every new bride to create a pinterest board where you can let your imagination run wild and pin everything that you like. It's such a great feeling to pin a bunch of ideas - it really helps a vision be created. You will notice that one or two themes really end up standing out. I also added some good friends & family to my board so that they could add in what they like and comment on my pins. After having no answers this past weekend for everyone who asked- I feel like some vision and answers are finally coming through. Check out my pinterest if you want to see what I have been pinning.

{Wedding Inspiration} Details I love...

At times I will let myself envision my big day and think about what I would want. I do know that I want to have like 5 weddings, but one of them would have to be: a "Beautiful Rustic Glam Wedding" - there I said it.

It would include:

Lots of lights - strings of lights, candles, and lanterns everywhere! I want to create ambiance.

Vintage charm - I like the idea of mixing and matching textures, patterns, and decor. When I saw this picture of the ceremony set-up with every chair being different - I...FELL...IN...LOVE! Such an awesome idea. What makes this even better is that I would get to source, pick, and scour to find the best vintage chairs for my cherished guests!

Rustic Atmosphere - Lots of wood & a set of two long dining tables is my ideal dinner set up. What would make the dinner even better would be to have everyone break out in song like the movie "My Best Friends Wedding".
