{Fall Trends} Winter White

The New York Runways were full of winter white for Fall 2012. Basically, throw out that rule about "no-white" after labour day and stock up on some monochromatic white looks for Fall. What I thought was interesting was that most of the looks from the runway had all white outfits with black shoes - really? I mean there are so many other hot shoe choices and colours to embrace this Fall. Black felt like a safe choice.

Will you embrace this new trend and risk wearing white after labour day?

{FALL} It's all about the jacket

Fall is just around the corner and if you are planning on investing in a new jacket for the season - the above 4 should be an indication of the direction you should go in.

Top 3 trends to consider when buying your jacket:

1. The colour of the season is Blue/Black

2. The texture is Natural

3. The new accent is Leather

You want to look for jackets with interesting details, structure, and a solid collar. Just because the new colour is blue/black that is not a reason to avoid pops of colour if that is your thing. Try to have a combination of the top 3 things to consider when purchasing your new said piece.

{Pretty Freedom} I made a video

Here are some behind the scene shots from a video shoot I did in Kensington Market at Pretty Freedom for Style By Lu. My good friend Jodee allowed me to film at his vintage store and his space was exactly what I was looking for. I like to think of my style as high fashion with some vintage softness and his space offered that. 

The video is going to be  steller - as I had two very top notch videographers filming it,  Rafael Ziah Franco & Co. They made the process super fun and comfortable. 

I can't wait to share the video with you all! You will learn a little bit about me and what I do. All in all - I'm super excited!

{Valentine's Day} Love is in the air...

Valentine's Day is tomorrow; but I prefer special holiday's to last a week, just like my birthday. With a holiday like Valentine's Day - it should really be about spreading love all year - not just on one day with one person, but with everyone that you love in your life. 

When thinking about what to buy, wear, or do for Valentine's Day this year - KEEP IT SIMPLE!

What to buy? Frame a beautiful saying like the ones above for your special someone or frame a picture of the two of you together as a keepsake.

What to wear? For women, add sparkle, red lipstick, and be glamourous from head to toe - even your undergarments. For men, spruce it up a bit with a tie, make your outfit special even if  you are having dinner in and watching a movie on the couch - show her you care!

One way to celebrate Valentine's Day your way is make a tradition of cooking dinner together at home and baking a dessert like cupcakes together to end the night. Sipping on a delicious wine or champagne during the process will also make it very special.

No special man is your life ladies? Why not go for a mani/pedi with girl friends? Have a special gathering at your house and cook dinner or order in.
