Fashion Resolution #1: Wear more color

My first fashion resolution for 2013 is to WEAR MORE COLOR! Don't get me wrong, an all black ensemble will happen from time to time, but I want to try to start straying away from that and adding more colour to my wardrobe. In the beginning it might be through accessories and then hopefully grow into  a full head to toe colourful outfit! 

With Spring just around the corner I'm going to start slowly adding colourful elements to my outfits NOW and collecting so that by Summer - I should have all the elements needed for a full on colorful wardrobe.

{Neon Love} With a hint of metallic

Neon, it's bright, bold, and right on trend! It's all about bringing back the 90's! Whether you want a head to toe neon look - or just a touch here and there - you can't go wrong. When I put this outfit together I wanted to channel beautiful summer days in the hot sun - hence the neon crop top, cut off blue JBrand shorts, and the eve patent satchel. I used to never be one to like the idea of pairing heels with shorts - not sure why - just wasn't for me - but when I found these Madewell metallic shoes I felt they were the perfect balance to this lite bright outfit.

{Spring Jackets}

It's almost time to send your winter jackets to the dry cleaners (you should at the end of each season) & then retire them to storage. With that in mind we need to start thinking about Spring jackets. 

When buying a Spring jacket; think...

1. Pops of colour & accents

2. Texture & pattern

3. Parkas & trenches

4. Oversized

5. Take a ladylike approach

This look totally speaks to the fashion I will be sporting this weekend - jeans, t-shirts, and uber casual by the water. Simple fashion - the straight up jean & t-shirt look is a definite go to for me (you can never have too many t-shirts, right!?). Simple fashion always looks uncomplicated and fresh.

Madewell

I just got back from a fabulous trip to New York City. While I was there, let's just say I shopped 'til I dropped! One of my new favourite stores is Madewell - honestly, I fell in love. Above are a few looks that I feel work perfect for the urban chic girl who is on the go (or who likes to cozy up at the cottage on the weekend!).
