{Menswear Trend} It's all in the bag

Traditionally, women are usually the ones carrying around fashionable bags and carting their most precious items in all sorts of carryalls. Lucky for men, designers have put a focus on creating beautiful bags for you to also carry your beloved belongings. So, rather than being bound to stuffing your pockets with everything you’ll need throughout the day, take some time to learn about the bags that are both fashionable and appropriate for you to lug around on different occasions. I've selected 5 "man bags" that I believe are great choices for you.

1. creative refined

2. unexpected flair

3. manly weekender

4. urban business

5. super classic

{What I Wore...Yesterday} Taking Biz Casual Up a Notch

Business Casual or Casual dress codes always seem to really confuse people. I find regardless of the dress code - I always seem to dress in a Style By Lu dress code. I like to always take it up a notch. Regardless what other people around me are wearing - I like to ensure that I feel comfortable in what I chose to wear and I'm dressing in a way that others will perceive me as a professional. I never want to look sloppy, messy, or not put together.

Yesterdays outfit consisted of Dolce Vita wedges, Joe Fresh Jeans (they no longer sell the ones I am wearing, but click here for another amazing option), JCrew Tank,  vintage blazer from Public Butter, & Rayban Sunglasses.

A little addition to today's post - what HE wore! Uber casual urban dude:

If I can tell any manfriendship or client in my life on tip - it would be: wear a white undershirt under your dress shirt or t-shirts. It is WAY more professional, looks better, and saves your outter shirt should you sweat. It's my ultimate styling tip for males.

I would love to see what you are wearing - so send in your pics! Email them to: info@stylebylu.com

Don't be shy!

{Tips} Find the right bathing suit for your body...

In a recent article that I wrote for Huffington Post I provided tips on how to find the right bathing suit for your body.

Bathing suit shopping has got to be one of the most hated shopping experiences for women. It is for me, that’s for sure! Why is it that the mirrors always show every dimple, flaw, or imperfection? Usually, when you are shopping for a bathing suit, you are about to go on a trip, meaning your skin hasn’t been exposed to sunshine and lacks a glowing tan. These factors make finding a suitable bathing suit difficult.  Instantly, your insecurities step in and make you focus on all the wrong things. It’s important when shopping for a bathing suit to focus on finding a suit that looks good on you now, not with a tan, not after you hit the gym hard core for the next couple weeks, or after you go on an extreme diet.

{Spring Jackets}

It's almost time to send your winter jackets to the dry cleaners (you should at the end of each season) & then retire them to storage. With that in mind we need to start thinking about Spring jackets.

When buying a Spring jacket; think...

1. Pops of colour & accents

2. Texture & pattern

3. Parkas & trenches

4. Oversized

5. Take a ladylike approach
