Weddings are constantly evolving; just like ones personal taste and style. Wedding trends seem to be all over the map these days with couples who are polor opposities to other couples. Some want to get married at the court house, others want to elope to Vegas, or others want to have a 500 person royal wedding. What makes me happy about this is the fact that weddings have now become a reflection of you and your partner as a couple and what makes you both who you are. Wedding celebrations have become really about surrounding yourself with the ones you love and making memories - not just trying to please those around you. I know this scenario still happens - but I like that I am seeing a shift here.
This brings me to my next topic: "The NOT so white dress" I feel like this is a trend that is getting adopted by many: adding a little colour or swaying away from the traditional all white dress. What are your thoughts on this? Do you like it? Not like it? Is it better for a 2nd marriage?

Bridesmaids are an important part of the wedding day. They are your support, usually your best friends and family, and often work really hard leading up to the big day!
You have two options as a bride - you can dress your bridesmaids in a hideous outfit so that you look THE BEST on your big day - or you can allow them to look just as beautiful and have them dressed in fabulous outfits just like you!
I like the second option. I love the dresses above because each bridesmaid can find a detail that individually suits them, they can add some flare, colour, or whatever other detail that allows them to shine on your big day.
Don't think of your bridesmaids as step-ford wives or Blair Waldorf's minions - remember they are your friends/family and deserve to always look and feel fab! You would want the same in return.
Think of your big day as an opportunity to have your own fashion show - the isle is your runway, your friends/family are your models, and you are the stylist or designer picking out what they wear. Have fun with it!
Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:13AM When dressing for a holiday dinner or going out brunching this weekend with your friends; look to add a blazer, a cute printed dress, a maxi skirt or dress, a touch of neon, floral prints, and coloured denim.
Any of the above or combining two of the above would create the perfect look!
I'm off to the cottage this weekend with no service; so you won't hear from me until Tuesday, but I packed a touch of the above inspiration for my Easter celebrations. I also included some long johns and plaid - because it is the cottage after all!
Happy Easter!
