NYC is one of my favourite cities. If I could move there I would (just so darn expensive!). I heart everything about it - primarily when I am there I Shop, Eat, & Drink - why not, right? The below list of recommendations has been growing for quite some time - it's making it harder and harder to hit my favourite places each time - as I have so many. If you have any goodies to add - please do so in the commenting area below.

If you walk around the Lower East Side you will find some awesome stores; but most of them are on Broome, Clinton, and Rivington. They have some awesome local designers and a lot of American Designers that you can't even get here.
In Soho, - Mott Street has amazing shopping as well; little boutiques with local designers. Lots of great vintage shops too!
Houston, Broadway, Spring, Prince, etc. are the main streets in SOHO and it has all the typical shops there, Victoria's Secret, Steve Madden, all the name brands. Walk up and down there and venture on the side streets, even the like big name brand stores are cool to just walk into cause of the setup. They really have wicked displays and designs to the stores.
-Walk around the Meat Packing disctrict, they have wicked stores. Big names like Stella McCartney, Diane Von Fustenberg, Shellee Steffee are all there! (34 Gansevoort Street)
Other good stuff:
Head to the high-line trail with a camera and coffee – it’s a real gem! They have a great website – so google it before you go!
Everytime I go to New York I try new things – these are just suggestions (and the list has grown from people providing steller reco's prior to my trip every year!)
If you find any gems – share the wealth & let me know!
Have a great trip!
